Entering the UK Business Awards was such a great experience for us, the virtual judging and awards ceremony was just as thrilling as if we had been there in person. Prior to the awards, the organisers were so supportive with any questions we had, and the judges were really high calibre.

Welcome to the inaugural UK Business & Innovation Awards!
In these challenging times, UK businesses have shown remarkable resilience and ingenuity – and, as ever, innovation has proved to be the powerhouse of the British economy.
This quick thinking, adaptability and creativity truly deserves recognition – and that’s what UKBIA™ is all about!
These awards, held Live Online on February 3 and 9, celebrate the heroic business professionals of the covid era, those who’ve pivoted, pioneered and persevered in an unpredictable age.
The event is designed to promote innovation and enterprise in the UK - the foundations of our economy - and we’ll be identifying best practice across all our entrants, sharing lessons we can all learn for the future.
In recognition of the critical role that micro-businesses and start-ups have played in our economic success, we’re pleased to offer a reduced entry price for smaller-sized organisations. But no matter your business size or scope, we have a range of categories to reflect your achievements. This is your opportunity to celebrate your success - and learn something valuable along the way.
Every entrant can also take part in the Customer’s Choice Award, which will be decided by a popular vote. The sooner you sign up, the longer you’ll have to get your votes!
It was truly inspirational to see the innovation and quality on show, and gave me a number of 'nuggets' to take back to the day job.

How to Enter
Entering the awards is incredibly easy: let’s go through the three steps you need to take.
Step 1 Choose the right category or categories
We’ve carefully selected 19 categories this year to reflect distinct areas of business and innovation excellence. Decide which ones best describe your organisation’s journey - and get ready to throw your hat in the ring! There’s no limit to the number of categories you can enter. Categories
Step 2 Complete your entry form
After sharing a few key details about your organisation, it’s time to start sharing your story! This written submission is your one chance to impress the judges, so make it count! Pay close attention to the scoring criteria and make sure you include tangible evidence of commercial results.
If you enter at an early date, we have a range of deals available: for instance, until September 17, micro-businesses and start-ups can enter one category absolutely free! Check out the How to Enter page to see the full range of discounts on offer.
Our shortlisting panel will assess all entries, and finalists will be announced on December 17, 2021.
Step 3 Experience the LIVE Online Finals & Ceremony
The LIVE ONLINE awards final and ceremony will be held on two separate days: the finals will take place on February 3, and the ceremony is on February 9.
Finalists will present in the morning and early afternoon on the 3rd, and a great number of the presentations will be ‘open’, so finalists and delegates can see other presentations.
They will get the chance to network, discuss best practice and acquire new insights into leading companies in the Business Innovation field through attending open presentations and using the exclusive Awards Manager app.
On the day of the ceremony, there will also be talks about the latest trends and innovations, featuring a panel discussion with special guest speakers.
Finalists will present their initiatives to a panel of 3-5 judges live during the event on February 3. This amounts to 50% of their overall entry score (the other 50% will come from the written entry).
The presentation is a chance to breathe life into your written entry. You will be allocated a 30-minute slot between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM to present to the judges (who have previously scored the written entry). The 30 minutes is organised as follows: you have five minutes to set up, 15 minutes to present, and 10 minutes to answer the judges' questions.
Once the presentation is done, the judges will evaluate it. This score is then combined with your written score to decide the winner of each category.
Step 4 Enjoy a LIVE Online Ceremony
Our independent judging panels will assess your entry carefully and thoroughly, and their scores will determine the winners in each category. On February 9, we’ll all come together online to find out who they are!
We’ll have a keynote speaker, a raffle for our charity partner Barnardo’s, a networking shuffle, and much more. Competing is just the tip of the iceberg!
If you’d like to enter the Customer’s Choice Award, just follow these steps:

It is really good to use the process of entering to reflect on what we have accomplished as a team. To get recognition for our work is an amazing feeling. I am so proud of the team and what we achieved, especially during a time of so much change and hardship for many.
